Abstract of Principles.
1. We believe in only one true and living God, comprising three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Deuteronomy 6:4; Jeremiah 10:10; John 1:1.
2. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the written word of God, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice of Christians. Isaiah 8:20; Romans 15:4.
3. We believe in the doctrine of election and predestination, that God chose his people in Christ before the foundation of the world and that they should be holy and without blame before Him in love. Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:1,4,5.
4. We believe in the doctrine of original sin. Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:12-25.
5. We believe that man is unable to recover himself from the fallen state that he is in by exertion of ability of his own, and that sinners are justified in the sight of God only and solely by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Jeremiah 13:23; Ephesians 2:8
6. We believe that the saints shall preserve in grace, and never finally fall away.Romans 8:28-30; Titus 1:2.
7. We believe that God's elect shall be called, converted, regenerated, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 1:9; Romans 8:28-33.
8. We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances of Jesus Christ, and that the only proper mode of baptism is performed by immersion, and that the only proper subjects of baptism are believers in the foregoing articles of faith. Matthew 28:19; Luke 22.
9. We believe that the washing of the saint's feet is a duty recommended by Jesus Christ and one that should be strictly adhered to. John 13:14-15; 1 Timothy 5:10
10. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, and a general judgement, and that the joys of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal. Ecclesiates 12:14; Romans 14:10.
11. We believe that none but regularly baptized ministers should administer the church ordinances and that none but regularly constituted members of the Church should commune at the Lord's Supper. Matthew 28:19-20.
